دگرگوں جہاں ان کے زور عمل سےبڑے معرکے زندہ قوموں نے مارے
منجم کي تقويم فردا ہے باطل
گرے آسماں سے پرانے ستارے
ضمير جہاں اس قدر آتشيں ہے
کہ دريا کي موجوں سے ٹوٹے ستارے
زميں کو فراغت نہيں زلزلوں سے
نماياں ہيں فطرت کے باريک اشارے
ہمالہ کے چشمے ابلتے ہيں کب تک
خضر سوچتا ہے ولر کے کنارے

Ke Darya Ki Moujon Se Tootay Sitare

 

Zameen Ko Faraghat Nahin Zalzalon Se
Numayan Hain Fitrat Ke Bareek Ishare

 

Hamala Ke Chashme Ubalte Hain Kab Tak
Khizar Sochta Hai Woolar Ke Kinare

The whole world shook from actions they played,
To live nations owe the events they made.

They wronged all views which a foreteller told,
From the sky fell down like sun the stars old.

The conscience of world is a fire untold,
From waves of river broke stars of fame old.

No rest the earth takes from these earthquakes,
How clear are hints which the nature makes.

How long the fonts boil at this mountain flanks,
The Khizr thus broods over the Wooler’s banks.
